The tower, the zoo and the tortoise

I read The Tower, the Zoo and the Tortoise by Julia Stuart a few weeks ago, but I forgot to tell you how delightful it was. The author's descriptions include imaginative similes and the characters are unique and fascinating. Here are a few of the elements found in the story:

catastrophic cuisine
Mrs. Cook, the family tortoise
The Rack & Ruin
London Underground Lost Property Office
Yeoman Warders
The ghost of Sir Walter Raleigh
